Trump’s ‘Truth Social’ Breaks Records — Twitter’s New Owner Weighs In

The buzz surrounding Truth Social has gotten louder and louder since Elon Musk successfully purchased Twitter.

Many are beginning to wonder if the pioneer social media companies truly have their users’ best interests in mind as they collect billion-dollar revenues from increasingly woke companies who often ban conservatives from using their services.

The entire social media industry is undergoing a major shift, punctuated by Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter and the establishment of Truth Social by Donald Trump. Liberal establishments and leftwing governments have essentially freaked out over both events, but social media users have seemingly picked their side, according to the most recent Apple Store rankings.

Former President Donald Trump’s Truth Social saw a sudden surge in interest this week after news broke of Elon Musk successfully acquired Twitter after a battle with its board of directors.

The Truth Social app rose to No. 1 on Apple’s app charts on Tuesday and Wednesday, a surprising companion development along with Musk’s purchase of Twitter, which restored many conservatives’ faith in the once-great social media platform.

Musk made note of Trump’s success on Twitter.

The app is outperforming Instagram and TikTok, and Twitter is left a “ghost town” full of bots, Devin Nunes, CEO of the Trump Media & Technology Group, claimed during a Wednesday interview.

The rise in downloads could be attributed to numerous events. On one hand, Musk’s acquisition of Twitter could’ve inspired more users to download Truth given the free speech ethos both companies seem to currently share. Truth Social also recently moved its servers to Rumble’s cloud service, which helped clear up the lengthy waitlist many experienced upon signing up.

Donald Trump’s recent statements about his potential return to Twitter could account for the increased downloads of Truth Social as well. Trump vowed not to return to the social media platform even if Elon Musk reinstated his widely-beloved account.

(No one believes Donald Trump would stay off Twitter if given the opportunity to return, by the way.)

Regardless of the reason, Truth Social and Twitter are now apples-to-apples competitors as they both vow to uphold the First Amendment for all of their users. But that didn’t stop Elon Musk from giving Donald Trump some advice about the name of Truth Social.

Trumpet is hilarious. Musk has a point here…
