Nothing spells desperation more than a politician evoking the names of past historical figures to make a case for modern ideological battles.
Such is the case with Nancy Pelosi, who took the opportunity on Martin Luther King Day to exploit the work of MLK and the Founding Fathers to justify breaking a century-old Senate filibuster rule to hammer through a pair of ‘voting rights’ bills without GOP support.
She exploded on Republicans and moderate Democrat senators who are standing in the way of the Democrats’ radical voting agenda, claiming opponents of the legislation and a change to filibuster rules are “dishonoring” the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and making our deceased forefathers and leaders like MLK and President Abraham Lincoln have “tears in their eyes,” unless the bills are passed.
“Nothing less is at stake than our Democracy. This is about suppressing the vote, it’s about nullifying the election,” Pelosi said Monday.
“If you really, truly want to honor Dr. King, don’t dishonor him by using a congressional custom as an excuse for protecting our democracy,” the radical house speaker continued.
Pelosi’s speech went on to suggest anyone who is somehow standing in the way of the radical voting legislation is making MLK, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson cry.

On Thursday, Sen. Sinema announced she would not support making any changes to the filibuster, all but sinking radical voting bills like “The John Lewis Voting Rights Act” and the “Freedom to Vote Act.”
Similarly, Sen. Manchin of West Virginia has expressed on numerous occasions his support for maintaining the Senate filibuster, furthering the likelihood of Joe Biden receiving a legislative victory.
Meanwhile, as Democrats continue waxing hysterical about the pair of voting bills, most Americans can clearly see through the dramatics.
The John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the Freedom To Vote Act are precisely the opposite of what Democrats claim. They are cynically disguising the truth about the bills, which strip away state’s rights and their ability to run elections, and flat-out lie about their impact.
Democrats are so desperate to maintain their grip on power they are willing to abandon the checks-and-balances laid out clearly in the Constitution. They will disregard the separation of federal and state governments until a high-concentrated, centralized government seizes enough overreaching power to control everyone’s private lives.
These bills will blur the lines of federal government overreach, which is already in question as the pandemic continues to rage.
We simply cannot allow the likes of Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to seize more power, thus more freedom, away from the regular American citizen.
We must not comply.
